WALKING FESTIVAL

The Initiative

HOW WE CAN HELP

Our Walking Festival is about more than putting one foot in front of the other. It’s about discovering the beauty on our doorstep, connecting with others and enjoying the physical and mental wellbeing that comes from spending time in nature. With walks for all ages and abilities, the festival brings people together to explore, make memories and celebrate the landscapes that make our corner of Scotland so special.

Registration: Rocks And Wheels Wee House, Dalbeattie

2026 Festival dates: 27th to 30th August

There is a charge of £4 per adult per walk.  All school age children are free of charge. No need to book > just turn up* and register at the meeting point 15 minutes prior to start time.

Some walk start points are further than walking distance. For those, where we can, we provide mini bus transport to start points. Others are self-drive as indicated in the description, but registration at Rocks And Wheels is still required, for all walks. Car parking is available at Rocks And Wheels via Mill Street, past the Iselcroft Stadium and caravan park.

Details below of the upcoming Festival, and previous years Festivals, can also be found on our Facebook Page – link below.

*Walks will start promptly at the stated time so please arrive 15 minutes prior, to register and pay for your walk. Finish times are approximate only.
