SUMMARY:Dumfries & Galloway Hard of Hearing Group
DESCRIPTION:Dumfries and Galloway Hard of Hearing Group is a grass roots organisation\, established in 2008\, by local people living with a hearing loss. We provide a local service to help hearing aid users access help and support to manage their hearing loss\, and to maintain the function of their hearing aids. We run a variety of volunteer run clinics across the region which offer: \n\nA care and maintenance service of NHS hearing aids;\nAn Advice and Support service regarding regular hearing aid maintenance \nPeer support to help people manage their hearing loss\nA referral service to other organisations\, such as Sensory Support\, Visibility and Audiology \n\nIn addition to this service our volunteers also visit people in their own home\, and in care homes\, if they’re unable to attend our local clinics. We are a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation and we are reliant on volunteers who are critical to the continued provision of our service.
